Women of the Bible Quiz

A women of the Bible quiz in six questions, gathered around Ruth, Esther, Sarah, and Mary. Answers are checked one by one as you give them.

Four women, six questions

The 6 questions on this page center on four figures:

  • Ruth
  • Esther
  • Sarah
  • Mary

Their stories sit in widely separated parts of the canon, which makes this the broadest-ranging page in the figures wing even though it is one of the shortest. Each question stays with what the text records about the woman it names, and each names her plainly, so you always know whose account you are being asked about.

Two readers, one key

The answers were established the same way as everywhere else on the site: two readers, working independently on the same fixed questions, filled in the whole set from the text, and the two versions were compared value by value before publication. Eighty-three values were compared across the site, and eighty-three matched. Where accounts or canons diverge on a detail, the question either names its source book or steps around the detail entirely. Nothing on this page speaks for a tradition; the questions keep to what the text itself reports.

How it plays

The quiz runs in this page. Each question presents four options; the moment one is chosen, the verdict appears along with the correct answer, so a miss is settled before the next question arrives. When all six are answered, a review sets the full run of your choices against the key. Your best score is saved in your browser for the next visit. No signup, no account, nothing to install.
